Retin-A – Acne Medication Treatment
Retin-A (tretinoin topical) is a powerful vitamin A enhanced topical cream that is used to treat all forms of acne, including adult acne.
Acne Skin Care Solutions:
There are a lot of products that are currently on the market that you can buy to treat your acne with. Here are some guidelines on daily facial care that may help to treat your acne.
- Wash your face and cleanse it at least 2 times per day using hot water
- Do not use products that contain artificial scents or alcohol
- Talk to your doctor about prescription products you can use to treat your acne
Adult Acne Preventions:
The key to ridding yourself of your adult acne lies deep in your pores, where bacteria collects and can cause the pores to become infected, creating acne. Daily washing of your face with the proper cleansers using hot water is essential. If you are still experiencing adult acne, talk to your doctor about Retin-A and see if it can help you.
How to Take Retin-A:
Make sure that you only use this topical exactly as directed to by your physician.
Typically it will be directed to be applied to the affected area 1-2 times per day. Avoid applying it near the eyes, mouth and ears.
How Does Retin-A Work?
Retin-A works by giving your skin a dosage of vitamin A, which helps to fight off acne-causing bacteria deep in the skin; it also improves the appearance of the skin.
Side Effects of Retin-A Include:

Retin-A Precautions:
It is very important that you make sure your physician is informed of any and ALL drugs that you are currently taking including over-the-counter drugs, creams and lotions, and especially any other acne treatment products in order to avoid any interactions or reactions from occurring. Women who are pregnant or who are currently nursing may not be able take this drug, as well as those who are currently taking medication containing thiazide diuretic, tetracycline antibiotics, fluoroquinolone antibiotics, sulfonamide antibiotics; or a phenothiazine. Avoid direct sunlight when using this drug and always wear at least an SPF 15 rated sun screen.
