And if your allergies, or the allergies of friends or loved ones who don’t visit because of the cat are too severe, you can consider installation of an air cleaning system.
• Vacuum your floors and upholstered furniture frequently using a HEPA (High Efficiency Particle Arresting) filter on your vacuum cleaner.
• Keep the cat’s litter box as far away from anyone with pet allergies as possible, like in a basement or a back porch.
• Bathe your pet weekly – including cats. Most cats and dogs don’t bathe willingly or happily, but you’ll breathe easier.
• Brush your dog or cat outside.
