As the most common form of cancer, most people know about skin cancer. With various types of skin cancer and different causes of skin cancer, it can seem like a difficult task to become aware of important information about this health issue. Here are some basic things to get you started on your way:

Skin Cancer is the most common form of cancer in humans.
More than 1 million new cases of skin cancer occur every year. It is estimated that nearly half of all Americans will develop skin cancer at least once during their lifetimes.

“Skin cancer” can refer to any of three conditions.
Melanoma, basal cell carcinoma, and squamous cell carcinoma are all forms of skin cancer.
UV light exposure is the most common cause of skin cancer.

The sun and commercial tanning beds are two sources of ultraviolet radiation. Both types of UV light that reach the earth (UVA and UVB) contribute to skin cancer.

Fair skinned people are at greater risk.
People who are fair skinned, have light (blond or red) hair, and have blue or green eyes are at the greatest risk for developing skin cancer.

Risk increases with age.
Generally, skin cancer develops slowly, so the risk of developing skin cancer increases with age. Damage to the skin that occurs during childhood may not be known until much later in life.

Skin cancer is generally divided into two stages.
At the “local” stage, skin cancer affects only the skin. At the “metastatic” stage, the cancer has spread beyond the skin.

There are a variety of treatments for skin cancer.
Depending on the condition of the cancer, a variety of methods can be used to treat it, including excisional surgery, laser therapy, freezing, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy.

Most skin cancer can be prevented.
Limiting or avoiding exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation and watching skin for noticeable changes are ways to prevent skin cancer. Protect yourself by avoiding the sun between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. when the sun’s rays are the strongest. Wearing sunscreen and protective clothing also protect your skin from the sun’s harmful rays. Prescription medication is also available to repair skin damage.

Now that you have some basic knowledge of skin cancer, take the time to do some additional research on the subject. Websites like WebMd and eMedicineHealth have a wealth of information on the topic of skin cancer.

A nice tan is viewed as glamorous and desirable, to the point where we’ll spend whatever time is necessary lying in the sun to get one. But no matter what the superficial physical result may be, the truth is that tanning can actually be a life-threatening habit. While sunshine may make us feel and look good, the concept of a healthy tan is starting to go the way of the dinosaur. Here are some of the dangers and effects of spending too much time in the sun that may make you want to think twice about that next trip to the beach.

Solar exposure to the sun to the point of sunburn. Intentionally or otherwise, we’ve probably all had a painful sunburn kept us awake at night and ended up peeling. This is far from healthy, both in the short and long terms. Multiple sunburns during the teenage years is a leading risk factor for various skin cancers (keep reading).

Premature aging of the skin. Chronic exposure to the sun causes degenerative changes in the skin called photoaging. Over time, skin can become wrinkled and leathery. Photoaging is often thought of as an unavoidable part of old age, but with proper protection from UV radiation it can be minimized.

Cataracts. Cataracts are a loss of transparency in the eye’s lens, which can cloud vision and can even rob people of their vision. Research has shown that UV radiation from the sun increases the development of some cataracts. Although curable with surgery, cataracts diminish the sight of millions.

Skin cancer. Skin cancer is the fastest-growing form of cancer in America. It is estimated that one in five Americans will develop skin cancer during their lifetime. Although skin cancer has nearly a 100% rate of cure with early diagnosis, chronic exposure to the sun can cause acute injury to the skin.

Actinic Keratosis. Actinic Keratosis (AK) is the most common pre-cancer, the result of prolonged exposure to the sun. A crusty or scaly bump that arises on or beneath the skin, AK can be the first step leading to Squamous Cell Carcinoma.

Squamous Cell Carcinoma. Squamous Cell Carcinoma starts in the outer layers of the skin and can metastasize to other areas of the body if not treated early. It can cause significant disfigurement.

Melanoma. Melanoma is the most deadly type of skin cancer and can be hereditary. In addition to excessive sun exposure and sunburns, previous melanoma and moles also increase the risk of developing the disease.

Thankfully, we are becoming educated in the risks of excessive sun exposure and realizing that too much of it can come back to haunt us. Traditional tanning lotion provides little, if any protection from the sun, while sunless tanning lotion can help achieve a bronze with no burn. In the end, though, the best way to avoid problems with overexposure to UV rays is to avoid excessive exposure to the sun.

Millions of women around the world, and especially in America, have many different methods of facial hair removal, including:

Shaving

Electrolysis

Epilation

Tweezing

Waxing and Sugaring

Bleaching

Depilatories

Laser Treatments

Those methods all work, at least temporarily, to some degree, or women wouldn’t continue to use them. But an FDA-approved method of reducing the amount of facial hair a woman has to deal with in the first place is available through ViaMedic.com.

How Vaniqa Cream Can Change a Woman’s Facial Hair Growth

Vaniqa is a topical cream that, when used correctly, reduces hair growth on a woman’s face, beginning within eight weeks for some women. With Vaniqa, used as a complement to a woman’s hair removal method of choice, the amount of facial hair a woman has to deal with will decrease dramatically over time. Vaniqa is the only prescription medication proven to reduce the growth of unwanted facial hair in females.

Female Facial Hair Growth, Heredity and Androgens

While heredity or the natural aging process is responsible for the growth of most unwanted facial hair, some facial hair growth can be attributed to an increase in androgen production. Every woman has male hormones (called “androgens”) in her body. As women age, the body produces more of these androgens which may cause an increase in hair growth on the chin, upper cheeks or neck area.

Another reason for facial hair growth related to excess androgen production in the body is being overweight or obese. Fat retains androgen, so the more overweight a woman is, the more androgen is held in her body, possibly triggering male-patterned hair growth.

Other known medical reasons for excessive hair growth can include polycystic ovary syndrome, or hormonal fluctuations that occur because of menopause or pregnancy.

What Makes Vaniqa Different

Vaniqa is a unique prescription cream that addresses the source of the unwanted facial hair problem, in some of the millions of hair follicles that cover a woman’s body. It is believed that Vaniqa blocks an enzyme in the follicle that is necessary for hair growth.

Vaniqa does not work instantly, but a woman will often see improvement in the amount of unwanted facial hair growth in as little as eight weeks. Using Vaniqa doesn’t mean that all unwanted facial hair will be eliminated, but used with a woman’s chosen method of hair removal, she should experienced a decreased need for facial hair removal as Vaniqa works to reduce facial hair growth.

Possible Vaniqa Side Effects

Vaniqa has an excellent safety profile, and will not damage or scar skin. Some women in clinical trials experienced minor and temporary skin irritations including:

redness

stinging

burning

tingling

acne

These side effects were not the norm, and only 2% of the subjects of the trials discontinued the studies because of side effects related to Vaniqa.

ViaMedic.com is an online pharmacy that can provide you with Vaniqa. Your order will be shipped promptly, securely and discreetly, as we know how important this issue, and your privacy, are to you. Contact a customer care representative at ViaMedic.com today.

Looking Good and Feeling Good Are Both Important

Billy Crystal, in his character of Fernando, was famous for the Saturday Night Live line, “It’s more important to look good than it is to feel good.” While he was clearly making a joke, our appearances clearly have an effect on our overall health, as the way we look determines how people treat us, ultimately influencing our personality development, confidence and feelings of self-worth. People who have rosacea symptoms, especially advanced symptoms, can feel small and insignificant when comparing themselves to people with perfect skin.

An increasingly common skin condition, it is estimated that rosacea affects some 14 million Americans, with one-third of the U.S. population now at the most susceptible age of between 30 and 60 years old. However, rosacea may also strike people in their 20’s or even younger. Many people with the condition don’t even know that they have rosacea symptoms, much less that there is an effective rosacea treatment.

Rosacea manifests itself with everything from mild redness of the area between the nose and cheeks, to a bulbous nose that is red, swollen and painful to touch (also known as rhinophyma) and may be covered with or surrounded by white-headed pustules. But no matter what stage of rosacea development a person may be experiencing, an FDA-approved rosacea treatment that is proven to work, MetroGel, can be ordered through online pharmacy ViaMedic.com.

MetroGel Is Effective in Controlling Rosacea

MetroGel is a topical medication that, when applied according to directions, can help alleviate the symptoms of rosacea. Over time, depending on the severity of the condition, MetroGel can restore a person’s skin to much of the youthful, glowing appearance it once had. MetroGel can make a difference in a matter of days, depending on how advanced the condition is. However, it may take three weeks for an improvement to be seen.

Rosacea is nothing to be ashamed of. It strikes rich and poor, famous and anonymous alike. President Bill Clinton has rosacea, as did the late Princess Diana. W.C. Fields, famous for his infected-looking bulbous nose, managed to capitalize on the fact that he, too, had rosacea. In those days, of course, MetroGel didn’t exist. But today, anyone who doesn’t want to live with rosacea doesn’t have to, as MetroGel can be easily ordered over the Internet from online pharmacy Viamedic.com.

Other Ways to Control Your Rosacea

In addition to using MetroGel, you can help control your rosacea in other ways by avoiding things that might increase the core temperature of your body and face. In other words:

• Limit your exposure to potentially harmful weather elements, including sun, cold and wind.
• Limit your intake of hot (temperature) or spicy food, hot drinks, and alcohol.
• Exercise is good for you, but try to exercise in cool surroundings and avoid dehydration.
• Ladies, be discerning with cosmetics, avoiding greasy, drying, or perfumed products.
• Long-term smokers have a decidedly different look about their skin, so it makes sense not to smoke, whether smoking is proven to have anything to do with rosacea or not.

MetroGel from Viamedic.com

You can order MetroGel from trusted online pharmacy Viamedic.com. At Viamedic.com, our caring professional staff wants to help you live the best life possible. Contact us today about MetroGel.

The skin care market is flooded with a number of anti-wrinkle face creams, but none as good as FDA-approved, prescription Renova Tretinoin cream. Renova is the first prescription cream proven to reduce certain clinical signs of photodamage, which is the name for skin damage resulting from chronic exposure to the sun and the natural aging process.

There are two types of UV rays, UVA and UVB. UVA rays penetrate the skin and are the leading cause of premature aging and skin cancer. UVB rays primarily impact the surface of the skin and mainly cause sunburn, but also contribute to skin cancer. Renova Tretinoin cream uses Tretinoin, a Vitamin A derivative, to address some of the sun’s damaging effects, diminishing fine wrinkles (including “crow’s feet”) and making skin softer and healthier-looking. However, Renova does not completely eliminate the signs of aging, nor will it reverse the aging process or completely repair sun-damaged skin.

Eight Myths and Facts about Wrinkles, the Sun, Skin Care and Aging

Myth #1: Aging causes wrinkles and there’s nothing you can do about it.

Fact: Aging does indeed contribute to crow’s feet and laugh lines, but sun exposure is the number one cause of wrinkles. As we age, skin loses its resilience and wrinkles result, and this is exacerbated by damage from sun exposure. Wearing a sunscreen or moisturizer with an SPF of 15 or greater every day can help reduce sun damage and prevent more wrinkles.

Myth #2: Facial exercises will make wrinkles go away.

Fact: There is no conclusive evidence to show that facial exercises help get rid of wrinkles.

Myth #3: Dry skin causes wrinkles.

Fact: Dry skin can make your wrinkles and fine lines more evident, but it doesn’t cause them. Sun exposure and aging are the two main reasons for wrinkles.

Myth #4: You don’t need to use sunscreen if you aren’t going to be outside.

Fact: Walking to your car, driving to work, or simply sitting near a window, you are exposed to harmful UV rays. In other words, silly as it seems to wear sunscreen in the house or on the way to work, you’re still being exposed to UV rays, sometimes as much as you would be if you spent a day actually lying in the sun.

Myth #5: If you don’t see sun damage, you don’t have any.

Fact: The signs of sun damage are not always obvious. Sun damage, or photodamage, is cumulative and can worsen over time. The days you spent in the sun without sunscreen as a kid can come back to haunt you in the form of fine lines, skin roughness, age spots, and, worse case scenario, skin cancer.

Myth #6: A tan is healthy.

Fact: A tan is evidence that UV rays have damaged some of your skin’s cells. There’s nothing healthy about damage.

Myth #7: A base tan will protect you from the sun when you go sunbathing.

Fact: A base tan does offer some protection from UV rays, but it damages skin in the process of getting it to begin with, and the idea isn’t completely effective anyway. In other words, it’s a myth.

Myth #8: If you didn’t wear sunscreen as a child, you can’t do anything about it now.

Fact: You can’t change the past, but it’s always a good idea to protect your skin from more sun damage if you can. It’s estimated that 80% of sun damage happens to people during their teenage years, but that doesn’t mean you should make it worse it by not taking care of your skin today. Wearing sunscreen or moisturizer with an SPF of 15 or higher every day, all year round, is always a good idea.

Renova is more than just another anti-wrinkle face cream. It is a product that will help restore the vitality and life to your face once more. Order your Renova today.
