Cost Comparison Study for Erectile Dysfunction (ED) Drugs at Pharmacies in 50 States & 150 Cities
November, 2008. Viamedic set out to perform a price comparison study for pharmacies from the three most populous cities for all 50 states, with regard to Viagra, Cialis and Levitra. We called each of the 150 pharmacies listed in the accompanying Chart. As you can see, we listed the prices the pharmacies charged for Viagra, Cialis and Levitra. The population of the cities was taken from: U.S. city population
Nearly all of the pharmacies listed are from CVS or Walgreens, with the exception of Alaska or Hawaii, which are Fred Meyer or Safeway.
Pharmacy ED Price Comparison Chart – Find out how much Viagra, Cialis, and Levitra cost in the nearest major city. This is a comprehensive chart with 150 cities, including three major cities from each state.
Medication and Quantity Tracked for Each Pharmacy
We tracked the selling price of Viagra, Cialis and Levitra for each listed pharmacy. Viagra 100mg tablets were tracked in the quantities of 5, 10, 20, 30 and 60. Cialis and Levitra 20mg tablets were also tracked in the quantities of 5, 10, 20, 30 and 60.
Why did Viamedic.com Track the Prices?
We wanted to discover the range of prices that pharmacies in populous cities charge for Viagra, Cialis and Levitra. We also wanted to determine what the average price difference would be if a customer ordered from viamedic.com versus their local pharmacies.

- The average price from pharmacies in all 150 cities was $153.69
- The lowest price for 10x100 mg Viagra occurred in Overland Park & Kansas City, Kansas; Kansas City & Springfield, IL at $142.99
- The highest price for 10x100 mg Viagra occurred in Dover, DE; Indianapolis, IN at $169.99
Cialis Prices
- Viamedic.com charges $185.00 for 10x20mg Cialis
- The average price from pharmacies in all 150 cities was $161.12
- The lowest price for 10x20 mg Cialis occurred in Huntington, WV at $144.99
- The highest price for 10x20 mg Cialis occurred in Los Angeles, CA & Jacksonville, FL at $172.99
Levitra Prices
- Viamedic.com charges $175.00 for 10x20mg Levitra
- The average price from pharmacies in all 150 cities was $154.17
- The lowest price for 10x20mg Levitra occurred in Las Cruces, NM & Rapid City, SD at $140.99
- The highest price for 10x20mg Levitra occurred in Lexington, KY; Newark, NJ & Madison, WI at $162.99
Conclusion
As you can see from the above figures, Viamedic charges an average of about $20 more than it would cost if you went to your local doctor and pharmacy for the above Erectile Dysfunction drugs. However, in most cases, the convenience and other benefits of using an online pharmacy (listed above) far outweigh the time commitments and expenses of going to the doctor, going to the pharmacy and other inconveniences such as a potential lack of privacy, etc.
