Developed by leading urologists and medical scientists, Viagra (Sildenafil) was created by the pharmaceutical company, Pfizer and released to the public in late 1996. 1-07-2008: “224,000 fake Viagra Pills Seized by French Customs”
Found during a routine search of a freight ship making a stopover from Brazil to India, a French customs agent stumbled upon the crates of the counterfeit product. (SE: today.reuters.com) “Branded Powergra and Erectalis, each box contained, in fact, four tablets in the characteristic shape and color of Viagra or Cialis pills,” said Budget Minister Eric Woerth's office in a released statement to the press, “the companies Pfizer and Eli Lilly, which respectively own the Viagra and Cialis brands, quickly confirmed the counterfeit nature of these products and the 224,000 pills were seized.” All in all the seizure totaled more than 3.5 million dollars worth of the fake pills.
